Who We Are

Coventry 4 Good is an initiative from Voluntary Action Coventry. It strengthens voluntary and community groups by making it easier to help local good causes through the giving of time and skills, money and resources. It is about everybody helping to make Coventry a great place to live and work by supporting local good causes. It is about community groups, charities, social enterprises, businesses and individuals working in harmony to form partnerships that are, ultimately, less dependent on statutory and grant funding.

All donations received by Coventry 4 Good are distributed to local good causes.

The exciting, unique initiative creates and reinforces relationships between local communities and businesses through four key ways:

Skills

Use your talents to help others. This could include a painter and decorator sprucing up a community room, a joiner repairing a fence or a marketer helping a local good cause raise awareness of its positive impact. What skills can you donate?

Money

  • Establish a payroll giving scheme for employees
  • Set up a fundraising appeal page for a sponsored event
  • Make a donation through our “Donate Now” facility
  • Provide a specific capital item
  • Develop a corporate social responsibility programme
  • Match Funding—help charitable groups to seek a wider range of grants through offering to match fund a proposal

Resources

Offer a product or activity to meet the needs of a local community or voluntary group. This could range from food for a pensioners lunch to cement to create a smooth and safe path for disabled access or even a venue for a meeting.

Time

Volunteering to support activities in your local community either by:

  • Participating in a one off event — office bake sales, shoe box appeals, sponsored activity
  • Giving a few hours a month to support a local group
  • Becoming a trustee
  • Joining/starting an employee volunteering scheme
